Basketball Recap: Brewbaker Tech Comes Up Short

Brewbaker Tech blew Wetumpka out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Wetumpka got their revenge. The Rams fell just short of the Indians by a score of 63-61. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Rams have suffered since November 12, 2024.

Wetumpka found their leader in sophomore Kaleb Ballard, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds. With that strong performance, Ballard is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Robinson, who almost dropped a triple-double with 19 points, 11 boards, and nine assists.

Brewbaker Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Wetumpka, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Brewbaker Tech is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Prattville Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wetumpka, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pelham at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Indians will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
