Recap: Union Farmers vs. Elizabeth Minutemen
The Union Farmers lost against the Elizabeth Minutemen back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Union fell 60-47 to Elizabeth. While losing is never fun, Union can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 187th, while Elizabeth is ranked seventh).
Elizabeth's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cameron Mcrae, who scored 15 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Mcrae posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Kareem Anthony jr., who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Union has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Elizabeth, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 12-2.
Union will be playing in front of their home fans against Linden at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Elizabeth, they will head out on the road to square off against Plainfield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
