Volleyball Recap: Westport Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Westport posted their closest victory since October 31, 2024 on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Monomoy Sharks 3-2.

Westport took Monomoy into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-18, 21-25, 19-25, 15-11.

Monomoy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kinsey Lister, who had 13 digs, eight kills, and two aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Cutter, who had 20 assists and ten digs.

Westport has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Wareham on the 17th. As for Monomoy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Sturgis West on the 17th.
