Softball Game Preview: Countryside Cougars vs. Hollins Royals

The Countryside Cougars will challenge the Hollins Royals at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Countryside is looking for their season's first win.

Countryside saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kimberly Crouch, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave Crouch a new career-high in hits.

Meanwhile, Hollins came up short against Dunedin on Tuesday and fell 8-4.

Hailey Mercado was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Aubree Van Epps, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3.

Hollins' loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Countryside, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
