Basketball Recap: Five Straight Home Wins for Lincoln

There's no place like home for Lincoln, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Morton Potters on Saturday, sneaking past 52-50. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Railsplitters' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 175th, while the Potters are ranked 35th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lincoln to victory, but perhaps none more so than Makinley Knapp, who posted 18 points. Another player making a difference was Mia Clark, who had 18 points.

Lincoln pushed their record up to 8-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Morton, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln will head out to challenge Limestone at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Morton, they will head out on the road to face off against East Peoria at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Peoria has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 190 points over their last three games.
