Baseball Recap: Albany Comes Up Short

Albany extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 7-6. They came up short against the Amsterdam Rams, falling 18-4. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 13-3 to the Rams when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Nate Pupons made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

As for Amsterdam, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-8. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Amsterdam's side, the team relied heavily on Logan Miller, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs and two RBI. Those four runs gave Miller a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chris Chirico, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Albany will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Taconic Hills at 7:00 p.m. As for Amsterdam, they are taking a road trip to take on Hudson Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
