Bloomfield's loss ends five-game winning streak at home

The Bloomfield Bobcats managed to keep up with the Navajo Prep Eagles until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Bloomfield's rough 56-34 loss to Navajo Prep might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Bloomfield has suffered yet this season.

Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Danielle Johnson, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aliya Quintana, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds.

Bloomfield's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-2. As for Navajo Prep, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bloomfield will square off against Crownpoint at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Crownpoint will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Mexico Rankings (they are ranked 80th, while Bloomfield is ranked 12th). Navajo Prep's road trip will continue as they head out to face Tohatchi at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th.
