Softball Game Preview: Marian Mustangs vs. Notre Dame Academy Eagles

The Marian Mustangs will face off against the Notre Dame Academy Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Marian managed to slip by Central Catholic the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mustangs came up short against the Fighting Irish on Thursday, falling 10-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Mustangs were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame Academy came out on top against University Liggett on Tuesday by a score of 6-5 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Lily Phillips and Payton Shively did most of the damage at the plate: Phillips went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple, while Shively went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Hannah Schultz was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Marian now has a losing record of 5-6-1. As for Notre Dame Academy, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.
