Baseball Recap: West Point Find Success

West Point let Valley Vista stack four runs on them in the fourth inning on Thursday but luckily West Point prevailed anyway. The Dragons sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the Monsoon. The win continues a trend for the Dragons in their matchups with the Monsoon: they've now won three in a row.

Marco Medina was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for West Point: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 6-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenyer Martinez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

West Point was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

West Point's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Valley Vista, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

West Point will face off against Youngker at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Dragons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Roughriders have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. As for Valley Vista, they will square off against Tolleson at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
