Baseball Recap: Marion-Franklin Comes Up Short

Marion-Franklin lost against Briggs back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Red Devils fell just short of the Bruins by a score of 4-3.

Marion-Franklin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jamaris Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Chris Crawford was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Marion-Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Briggs, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Looking ahead, Marion-Franklin will host Columbus Torah Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Briggs, they will face off against Danville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
