Basketball Recap: Everett Wease's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Union Academy over Mount Pleasant

Union Academy suffered their biggest loss since December 30, 2023 on Friday. They came up short against the Mount Pleasant Tigers, falling 65-43. The defeat continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost three in a row.

Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Everett Wease, who posted nine points. Wease has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Parker Frashier, who scored nine points and five boards.

Union Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Mount Pleasant, they pushed their record up to 9-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Union Academy will face off against North Stanly at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Union Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.5 points per game this season. As for Mount Pleasant, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 76-44 victory against Southwestern Randolph on the 25th.
