Recap: Macks Creek Pirates vs. Warsaw Wildcats
The Macks Creek Pirates stacked a 14th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 69-31 victory over Warsaw on the road. With Macks Creek ahead 35-13 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Macks Creek got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Addison Ratliff out in front who scored 23 points along with five assists. Ratliff is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Duggan, who scored 14 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Maylee Slavens and Mady Reimund certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Slavens scored four points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Reimund scored 11 points. It was the first time this season that Slavens pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Macks Creek's victory bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Warsaw, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Macks Creek is on the road again on Tuesday and plays Chadwick at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th. Macks Creek is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 63.8 points per game this season. As for Warsaw, they will head out on the road to take on Climax Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Warsaw is facing Climax Springs at the right time seeing as Climax Springs is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
