Recap: Mississippi School for the Deaf Bulldogs vs. Stringer Red Devils

If the Mississippi School for the Deaf Bulldogs were feeling good off their 45-15 takedown of the Illinois School for the Deaf Tigers on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Mississippi School for the Deaf was beaten by Stringer 50-21 on Tuesday. Mississippi School for the Deaf lost against Stringer in their previous head to head back in February of 2016, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 49-37 score last time.

Mississippi School for the Deaf lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being DeSiare Ingram, who scored seven points. Ingram scored a full 33.3% of Mississippi School for the Deaf's points, the 11th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Aimaya Brand, who scored six points.

Mississippi School for the Deaf's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Stringer, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mississippi School for the Deaf will take on West Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Lincoln presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mississippi School for the Deaf in Mississippi (West Lincoln is ranked 174th, while Mississippi School for the Deaf is ranked 447th). Stringer will be home for the holidays to greet Mount Olive at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mount Olive comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
