Softball Recap: Gosnell Finds Home Field Redemption Against Westside

There's no place like home for Gosnell, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Westside Warriors a 3-0 shutout on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Pirates as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Not much got past Avery McHan, who gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Westside off the board. McHan has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Gosnell's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Moresco, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Gosnell's record now sits at 9-5. As for Westside, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 13-4.

Coming up, Westside will venture away from home to take on Brookland at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Gosnell will be paying especially close attention to the Warriors' game: after the Warriors faces off against the Bearcats, they'll take on Gosnell again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
