Basketball Game Preview: Compton Tarbabes vs. Firebaugh Falcons

The Compton Tarbabes will venture away from home to take on the Firebaugh Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Compton has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 4.

Last Thursday, Compton ended up a good deal behind Serra and lost 88-73. While losing is never fun, the Tarbabes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1172nd, while the Cavaliers are ranked 520th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Firebaugh). They claimed a resounding 75-35 win over Middle College. The Falcons pushed the score to 55-25 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cougars had little chance of recovering from.

Compton's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Firebaugh, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Compton beat Firebaugh 60-52 in their previous meeting back in January of 2017. Will Compton repeat their success, or does Firebaugh have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
