Basketball Recap: Watauga Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Watauga can now relate to. They were beaten by the North Mecklenburg Vikings 84-48 on Friday. The contest marked the Pioneers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Watauga's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cade Keller, who posted 11 points. Keller is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 53% in the last three games he's played. Maddox Greene was another key player, putting up nine points.

The defeat snapped Watauga's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 21-8 record. As for North Mecklenburg, their victory was their 27th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 28-3.

As of now, neither Watauga nor North Mecklenburg have any future games scheduled.
