Softball Recap: Nicholas County Takes a Loss

Nicholas County and Greenbrier East squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Nicholas County had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 7-6. The loss continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost four in a row.

Nicholas County saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brylee Scott, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Cassie Harper was another, going 3-for-4 with one run.

Nicholas County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-19. As for Greenbrier East, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-12 record this season.

Nicholas County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greenbrier East, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-5 loss against PikeView on the 16th.
