Basketball Recap: Monument Valley Comes Up Short

Monument Valley lost against Ganado back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Monument Valley Mustangs fell 59-51 to the Ganado Hornets.

Ganado's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jasah McIntosh, who went 10-for-18 en route to 25 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. McIntosh is becoming a predictor of Ganado's success: when she posts at least 15 points the team is 15-4 (and 2-4 when she doesn't). Faith James was another key player, putting up 20 points along with five assists and three steals.

Monument Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Ganado, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Monument Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-46 loss against Snowflake on the 11th. As for Ganado, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 56-30 defeat against Chinle on the 7th.
