Recap: Ocala Christian Crusaders vs. Taylor Wildcats

The Ocala Christian Crusaders struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Taylor Wildcats had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Ocala Christian took a 54-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Taylor. Ocala Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ocala Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Amari Gordon, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 18 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Conrad Bloom, who scored 18 points along with four steals.

Leading Taylor to victory were James Thomas and Ursi Castro. Thomas dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds, while Castro scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Castro has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zachery McKinnon, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds.

Ocala Christian has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Taylor, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9.

Ocala Christian will square off against Belleview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Belleview has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 27. As for Taylor, they will be playing at home against Trinity Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Trinity Christian Academy has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 0-3 during that stretch of close contests.
