Recap: Milaca Wolves vs. Annandale Cardinals
The Milaca Wolves were the 46-34 winner over the Annandale Cardinals when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. Milaca was dealt a 91-42 loss at the hands of Annandale on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Milaca can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 403rd, while Annandale is ranked 71st).
Milaca's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Thomas Leom, who scored ten points. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for him. Landon Hasz was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Milaca still hasn't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6. As for Annandale, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Milaca is on the road again on Friday and play against Rush City at 7:00 p.m. on December 22nd. Rush City is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Annandale, they will head out on the road to face off against Legacy Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Legacy Christian Academy is on a four-game streak of home wins, Annandale a five-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
