Baseball Game Preview: Greenfield Bruins vs. North Monterey County Condors

For the second straight game, Greenfield will face off against North Monterey County. Greenfield will welcome North Monterey County at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Greenfield 2.6, North Monterey County 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Wednesday, Greenfield came up short against North Monterey County and fell 6-3. The game marked the Bruins' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Kenny Pajas was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Nate Hernandez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

North Monterey County's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Greenfield, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Greenfield has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like North Monterey County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8 strikeouts.
