Football Recap: Arlington's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Arlington came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Wappinger Warriors by a score of 19-12. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 20-12 last Wednesday.

Arlington found their leader in sophomore Chase Harris, who rushed for 157 yards while picking up 9.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 72 yards and two touchdowns. Those 157 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Harris.

Arlington was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 212 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive games.

Arlington pushed their record up to 7-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.0 points on average over those games. As for Wappinger, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Coming up, Arlington will be playing in front of their home fans against Putnam Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Wappinger does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
