Basketball Game Preview: Gardner-Edgerton Trailblazers vs. Olathe South Falcons

Gardner-Edgerton hasn't had much luck against Olathe South recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Gardner-Edgerton Trailblazers will venture away from home to take on the Olathe South Falcons.

Gardner-Edgerton lost 60-34 to Olathe West on Friday. The Trailblazers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Olathe South waltzed into their match on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They took their game with ease, bagging a 61-34 victory over the Hawks. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Hawks are ranked 216th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Olathe South's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points over those games. As for Gardner-Edgerton, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.

Gardner-Edgerton came up short against Olathe South in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 51-38. Can Gardner-Edgerton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
