Soccer Game Preview: Shalom Christian Academy vs. York Country Day

The Shalom Christian Academy Flames are taking a road trip to take on York Country Day at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

Shalom Christian Academy is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against West Shore Christian Academy on Thursday. The Flames and West Shore Christian Academy finished up their match with a 2-2 draw.

Meanwhile, York Country Day came into Friday's matchup having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Christian School of York 3-2.

York Country Day was without their leading scorer, Logan Shrader, in Friday's contest. With Shrader sidelined, York Country Day had to make some big changes to the lineup. Three players hit the pitch for the first time this season: Michael Aryee, Brian Mwayuli, and Tristan Morgan. Mwayuli made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal and one assist A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

York Country Day's victory bumped their record up to 4-12. Shalom Christian Academy's draw gives them a new season record of 8-8-1.

Everything went Shalom Christian Academy's way against York Country Day in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as Shalom Christian Academy made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Flames since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
