Football Recap: Antonian Prep Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Topper Sterling and Rogan Parson

After flying high against Navarro last Friday, Antonian Prep came back down to earth. The Apaches lost 63-41 to the Regents Knights on Friday. The Apaches were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-14.

Rogan Parson and Topper Sterling certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Parson rushed for 117 yards and four TDs, while Sterling rushed for 195 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Parson is crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season.

Even if they lost, Antonian Prep's defensive line still kept up the pressure with 3.5 sacks. In that department, Aaron Arredando was the leader with two. Antonian Prep got some further help from Damien Cadena: he picked up 1.5 sacks, forced three fumbles, and made nine total tackles.

Jack Devine had a dynamite game For Regents., throwing for 443 yards and five TDs while completing 76.7% of his passes, and also punching in one score on the ground. That's the most passing touchdowns Devine has posted since back in September of 2024. Isaiah Mills also helped with three touchdowns in total.

Having lost for the first time this season, Antonian Prep fell to 2-1. As for Regents, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Antonian Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on St. Michael's at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. The Apaches will need to watch out since the Warriors have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Regents, they have already played their next game, a 59-15 win against St. Joseph Academy on the 19th.
