Basketball Recap: East Mountain Takes a Loss

East Mountain played a tough match on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 63-35 defeat at the hands of the Pine Hill Warriors. The Timberwolves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-13.

Despite the loss, East Mountain had strong showings from Jodie Tillman, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds, and Evelyn Kannolt, who posted eight points in addition to eight boards and seven assists. Kannolt has been hot recently, having also posted four or more steals the last four times she's played.

Pine Hill got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nevaeh Natan out in front who went 5 of 11 on her way to 16 points and seven steals. Another player making a difference was Layla Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

East Mountain is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7. As for Pine Hill, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

East Mountain didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-42 victory against Hatch Valley on the 3rd. As for Pine Hill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 48-33 defeat against Tucumcari on the 3rd.
