Soccer Game Preview: Long vs. Carroll

Long is 0-8 against Carroll since April of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Rebels will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Long has given up an average of 4.7 goals per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Long lost 11-1 to Northside Methodist Academy on Thursday. Long were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 6-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Isabella Rhodehouse, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, Carroll came tearing into Tuesday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Golden Bears get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Carroll, who have now won 12 games by three goals or more so far this season.

Long's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8-4. As for Carroll, their win bumped their record up to 15-2-2.

Long suffered a grim 9-2 defeat to Carroll when the teams last played last Monday. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Rebels were down 8-0.
