Softball Recap: Glenn Comes Up Short

Glenn fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Bremen on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 5-4. The Falcons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

McKenzie Timm spent all 8.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Makinzie Kline made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Glenn moved to 8-8 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Bremen, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-11.

Looking ahead, Glenn will welcome Jimtown at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jimmies have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Bremen, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-0 loss against Kouts on the 7th.
