Softball Game Preview: Pender Patriots vs. West Columbus Vikings

Pender is a perfect 6-0 against West Columbus since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Patriots will host the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. The last three games Pender has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Pender is headed into the match having just posted their closest win since March 20th on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Whiteville 4-3.

The team relied heavily on Kimora Mcallister, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Jayda Tozour, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, West Columbus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against East Bladen, falling 10-0.

West Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Pender, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.

Pender took their win against West Columbus in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
