Baseball Recap: John F. Kennedy Beats Gonzales for Their Third Straight Victory

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but John F. Kennedy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against the Gonzales Apaches by a score of 10-5. The victory was familiar territory for the Rockets, who have now won three contests in a row.

BAYRON CRUZ made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because John F. Kennedy is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 7-9 otherwise. CRUZ was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two).

In other batting news, MAX GARZA was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three doubles, two runs, and one stolen base. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February. JORGE PINA was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

John F. Kennedy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.

John F. Kennedy's record is now 9-10. As for Gonzales, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-18-1.

John F. Kennedy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Apaches: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
