Green Hope extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 4-6. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Jordan. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Green Hope has suffered since April 24, 2025.

Blake Vestal was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Green Hope is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 2-5 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Trevor Cleveland and Troy Haynes did some serious damage despite the final result: Cleveland went a perfect 4-for-4 with one RBI, while Haynes got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run. That RBI marked the first that Cleveland has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Elijah Martin, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
As for Jordan, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.
On Jordan's side, Peyton Kozink made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Kozink was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
Kozink wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Matt Beaulieu, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Beaulieu has posted since back in April of 2025.
Looking ahead, Green Hope will head out on the road to challenge Leesville Road at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pride have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Jordan, they will head out to face off against Durham Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cavaliers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.67 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of.
