Royal waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the San Marcos Royals. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Highlanders have posted since March 27, 2024.

Dustin Dunnwoody tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits.

At the plate, Zachary Nagy was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Vasquez, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Royal's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for San Marcos, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Royal will welcome Channel Islands at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for San Marcos, they will face off against Rio Mesa at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
