Baseball Recap: Berry Comes Up Short

Berry fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Hubbertville on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 5-3. The Wildcats just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Berry saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Wesley Scarbrough, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI. Ace Norris was another, scoring two runs and stealing a base.

Berry's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Hubbertville, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-6.

Coming up, Berry will head out on the road to take on Sulligent at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hubbertville, they will host Pickens Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
