Basketball Recap: Jaxson Fazio Key Part of Team Effort in Miners Win

Creede's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They secured a 48-44 W over the Moffat Cowboys. This was a revenge game for the Miners: when they faced off against the Cowboys two weeks ago, they had to take a 48-42 loss.

Creede got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaxson Fazio out in front who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds. Fazio has become a key player for Creede: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least eight boards, but 4-11 otherwise. Greyson O'Hare was another key player, putting up 15 points and eight rebounds.

Creede was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Moffat only four assists.

Moffat's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Preston Heater, who posted 18 points and five steals, and Diego Fries, who scored 12 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. That was a full 40.9% of Moffat's points, marking the ninth time in a row Heater has had more than a third of the team's points.

Creede is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-13 record this season. Moffat has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season.
