Baseball Recap: Canton Central Catholic Comes Up Short

Canton Central Catholic fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Marlington on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Dukes by a score of 8-7. The Crusaders have struggled against the Dukes recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Canton Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Marlington, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 12-10 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canton Central Catholic will challenge Lake Center Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Crusaders 3.3, the Tiger 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Marlington, they will face off against Louisville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
