Baseball Game Preview: Cimarron-Memorial Spartans vs. Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars

The Cimarron-Memorial Spartans are taking a road trip to take on the Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Cimarron-Memorial is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 23 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Sports Leadership & Management on Friday. They lost 14-0 to the Bulls. The defeat continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Bulls: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Pinecrest Academy Cadence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against Rancho, falling 19-0.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braxton Schiess, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Cimarron-Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Pinecrest Academy Cadence, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Cimarron-Memorial couldn't quite get it done against Pinecrest Academy Cadence in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 13-10. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
