Softball Recap: Cranston West Continues Home Dominance on Friday

There's no place like home for Cranston West, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the West Warwick Wizards on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Falcons also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2017.

Mia Crudale was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in June of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

Crudale wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mia Baffoni, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Cranston West pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for West Warwick, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Cranston West has already played their next matchup, an 11-1 defeat against La Salle Academy on the 29th. As for West Warwick, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 19-0 win against Woonsocket on the 28th.
