Football Recap: Alex Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Maud last Friday, Alex came back down to earth. The Longhorns took a 26-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Destiny Christian Wildcats on Friday. The Longhorns have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Alex saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Maddox Schultz rushed for 164 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries.

Leading Destiny Christian to victory were A'Maurie Rusler and Quincy Jones. Rusler rushed for 124 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, while Jones rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns. What's more, Jones racked up 24 passing yards, the most he's had since back in September of 2024.

Alex now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Destiny Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Alex didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 36-32 victory against Davenport on the 19th. As for Destiny Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 50-14 win against Life Prep on the 19th.
