Basketball Recap: Newburg Takes a Loss

Newburg was the 74-69 winner over Stoutland when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Newburg Wolves took a 72-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stoutland Tigers on Monday. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Newburg's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Stoutland, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newburg will head out to square off against Iberia at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Stoutland, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers take on the Lions at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Stoutland knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 17 matches -- so hopefully Crocker likes a good challenge.
