Baseball Game Preview: New Providence Pioneers vs. Brearley Bears

The New Providence Pioneers are taking a road trip to square off against the Brearley Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

New Providence easily dispatched Union on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Pioneers fell just short of Oratory Prep by a score of 4-2 on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Pioneers couldn't push the score so high this time.

New Providence saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Santacross, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Brearley came up short against Elizabeth on Friday and fell 8-3.

New Providence's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Brearley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
