Basketball Recap: Dixie County Comes Up Short

Dixie County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-44 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lafayette Hornets. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Dixie County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Lafayette, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dixie County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Union County at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Lafayette will take on Hamilton County in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
