Fleming Island had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They breezed past the Middleburg Broncos to the tune of 74-42. The victory continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now won six in a row.

Fleming Island's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexander Brown, who posted 14 points. The dominant performance also gave Brown a new career-high in field goal percentage (80%). Carson Crawford was another key player, going 5-for-7 en route to 11 points.

Middleburg's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fleming Island will head out to face off against Lake Howell at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Middleburg, they will take on Fernandina Beach at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
