Recap: Moffat Cowboys vs. Creede Miners
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 16 more assists than your opponent, a fact the Moffat Cowboys proved on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Creede 62-29 on the road. That 62-29 margin sets a new team best for Moffat this season.
Ziah Pesqueira continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with seven steals and five assists. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Riley Heater, who scored five points along with six steals.
Creede struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
The win makes it two in a row for Moffat and bumps their season record up to 7-1. As for Creede, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Moffat won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Weldon Valley at 2:30 p.m. on January 6th. Hopefully Weldon Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 back in December of 2023. As for Creede, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Sargent at 6:30 p.m. Sargent presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Creede in Colorado (Sargent is ranked 75th, while Creede is ranked 334th).
