Baseball Recap: Monticello Buckaroo vs. Dolores Bears
After losing to Dolores the last time they met, Monticello decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Everything went the Monticello Buckaroo's way against the Dolores Bears on Monday as the Monticello Buckaroo made off with an 8-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Buckaroo.

Jackson Keyes and Triston Felix made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Keyes tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Felix kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. At bat, Keyes scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Felix went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Felix is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as he's now launched at least one in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cache Young, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Monticello's record is now 2-0. As for Dolores, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monticello will challenge San Juan at 3:30 p.m. on March 18th. As for Dolores, they will face off against Shiprock at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
