Softball Recap: Liberty Indians vs. Tri-Valley Bears
Liberty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tri-Valley Bears. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 14-0 to the Bears when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Angie Wheeler was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up six earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Giuliana Wagner was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Amy Szuba, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI.
Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Tri-Valley, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Liberty has already played their next matchup, a 19-4 win against Rockland Central on the 27th. As for Tri-Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 4-1 victory against Sullivan West on the 23rd.
