Softball Recap: 16 Straight Home Wins for Imperial

Imperial waltzed into their game on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Holtville Vikings a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Addison Clark was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Natalia Espinoza was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Imperial's victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Holtville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-18.

Imperial will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Vikings: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
