Softball Recap: Interlachen Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

While Interlachen put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Eastside. Interlachen was the clear victor by a 17-0 margin over Eastside. Considering Interlachen has won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Baileigh Riddley, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Julianis Morales, who went 1-for-2 with three runs and one double.

Interlachen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .731. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win (which was Interlachen's third in a row) raised their record to 8-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Eastside, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Looking ahead, Interlachen will be playing in front of their home fans against Menendez at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Eastside, they have already played their next game, a 14-0 loss against Fort White on the 13th.
