Plainfield Central has gone a perfect 10-0 against Joliet Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Wildcats will take on the Steelmen at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Plainfield Central has three straight wins, Joliet Central has 14 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Plainfield Central's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Romeoville as they made off with a 12-0 victory.

Abby English was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Evalyn Prochaska, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Plainfield Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They are undefeated (4-0) when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Joliet Central's offense. They came up short against Plainfield East on Wednesday, falling 11-0.

Plainfield Central's win bumped their record up to 14-12-1. As for Joliet Central, their loss dropped their record down to 2-24.

Everything went Plainfield Central's way against Joliet Central when the teams last played back in April, as Plainfield Central made off with a 17-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
