Baseball Game Preview: Fort Worth Christian Cardinals vs. Mansfield Homeschool Knights

The Fort Worth Christian Cardinals will head out to take on the Mansfield Homeschool Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

It was a proper cat-fight when Fort Worth Christian challenged Grapevine Faith Christian on Wednesday. The Cardinals had just enough and edged out the Lions 10-9. The victory continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Mansfield Homeschool waltzed into their contest on Monday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against THESA. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by just one run.

The team relied heavily on Hudson Miller, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Joshua Robbins, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Mansfield Homeschool pushed their record up to 26-6-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.6 runs across that stretch. As for Fort Worth Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 21-7-2.

Fort Worth Christian couldn't quite finish off Mansfield Homeschool when the teams last played back in March and fell 7-5. Can the Cardinals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
