Baseball Recap: Fort Mill Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Fort Mill, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They put the hurt on the Rock Hill Bearcats with a sharp 13-2 victory on Monday. The Yellow Jackets haven't had any issues with the Bearcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Kody Romero tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Jacob Pettit was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was JB Walters, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3.

Fort Mill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Fort Mill's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Rock Hill, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-8.
